Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

Brio has a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. There are no warnings for serious violations — accounts are suspended or permanently removed.

The following are never allowed on Brio:

  • Nudity, sexually explicit photos, or pornographic content of any kind.
  • Harassment, threats, stalking, intimidation, or unwanted sexual advances.
  • Hate speech, slurs, or content attacking people based on identity.
  • Violence, self-harm content, or content that glorifies either.
  • Minors — you must be 18 or older. Any profile of a minor is removed at once.
  • Impersonation, catfishing, fake or stolen photos.
  • Scams, solicitation, prostitution, spam, or commercial promotion.
  • Illegal activity, drug sales, or weapons.
  • Sharing another member's private information or private messages.

Reporting and blocking

Every profile, chat, and photo in the Brio app has a Report and a Block action. Tap the ••• menu on a profile or in a conversation to report objectionable content or block the member instantly. Blocking is immediate and mutual — the blocked member can no longer see you, match with you, or message you.

You can also email safety@joinbrio.io with the member's name and a screenshot.

How we review reports — within 24 hours

Our moderation team reviews every report of objectionable content or abusive behaviour within 24 hours. Reported content is assessed against these guidelines, and we act on the reported content and the member who posted it.

Depending on severity, action includes:

  • Removal of the offending photo, prompt, or message.
  • Loss of photo verification and reduced visibility.
  • Temporary suspension of the account.
  • Permanent removal of the account and a ban on re-registration.
  • Referral to law enforcement where there is a credible risk of harm.

Members who repeatedly file bad-faith reports may also lose access. Removal decisions are final; you may appeal once by emailing safety@joinbrio.io.

Be the kind of person you'd want to match with

  • Use recent, real photos of yourself and get verified.
  • Be honest about who you are and what you're looking for.
  • Respect a "no" — and unmatch instead of arguing.
  • Keep conversations kind, even when there's no spark.
